Catch These Compliments® Covers Tribeca Festival 2025: A Front-Row Seat to Creativity and Storytelling

      — A Look Back at the Festival’s Most Inspiring Moments

This year, Catch These Compliments had the incredible opportunity to cover the iconic Tribeca Festival 2025 as part of the media press, diving deep into the heart of one of the world’s most celebrated celebrations of film, art, and culture.

Held in New York City, the Tribeca Festival continues to be a vibrant hub for storytellers, filmmakers, and creatives from around the globe. From riveting premieres to engaging panel discussions and unforgettable live performances, the festival offers an unparalleled experience that captures the power of storytelling in all its forms. At Tribeca Festival 2025, Catch These Compliments covered exciting red carpet premieres and live events, spotlighting standout projects and voices across film, music, and social justice.

We attended the World Premiere Listening Event of Hamlet, an innovative audio adaptation starring Daniel Kyri that immerses listeners inside Hamlet’s mind using only Shakespeare’s words and sound design by Tony Award winner Mikhail Fiksel. The event included a live discussion with the creative team, offering a fresh, immersive take on this classic.

Our coverage also featured the World Premiere of We Are Pat, a poignant comedy-documentary exploring the legacy of the androgynous SNL character Pat, played by Julia Sweeney. Filmmaker Ro Haber and a celebrated group of queer and trans comedians and writers, including Sweeney, engaged in conversations to reclaim and reframe Pat through the lens of 2025 trans visibility and empowerment. Before the premiere, audiences enjoyed a comedy performance featuring participants Roz Hernandez, Nori Reed, James Tom, and others.

We highlighted Whoopi Goldberg’s curated Animated Shorts, including Captain Zero: Into the Abyss Part II, a thrilling blend of action and comedy exploring the question, “Who’s gonna save superheroes when they need saving?” The short’s director expressed excitement over its Tribeca world premiere and being hand-picked by Goldberg herself.

On the feature film front, we showcased How to Train Your Dragon (Live-Action), Dean DeBlois’s stunning reimagining of the beloved franchise, following Hiccup and Toothless as they challenge Viking tradition to forge a new future.

Tribeca Festival also hosted a live episode recording of Slate’s Death, Sex & Money podcast, featuring host Anna Sale and award-winning actress Allison Williams (Get Out, Girls, M3GAN). The episode explored Williams’ career and the complexities of identity in the spotlight, alongside Brooklyn-based Gen Z comedians Amelia Ritthaler and Evan Lazarus from the Girls Rewatch Podcast.

We highlighted powerful Tribeca Talks such as the presentation of the Harry Belafonte Voices for Social Justice Award to Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett, followed by a conversation with humanitarian icon Whoopi Goldberg.

The festival’s music and documentary slate included the world premiere of Kid Cudi’s Neverland and talks featuring Grammy-winning producer Mark Ronson alongside Wyclef Jean.

In shorts programming, we featured an intense horror sci-fi music video starring Scott Mescudi and Kiernan Shipka, alongside the thrilling action-drama One Spoon of Chocolate, a hard-hitting story of a veteran confronting injustice in his hometown, directed by Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA.

Lastly, we covered the spotlight documentary Room to Move, executive produced by Amy Schumer, which follows choreographer Jenn Freeman’s journey as she creates a groundbreaking solo dance piece while navigating life with a late diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Notably, Steve Buscemi was seen attending the Storytelling Summit during the festival, symbolizing the deep artistic engagement that Tribeca inspires.

Tribeca Festival 2025 offered an inspiring, diverse celebration of storytelling, and Catch These Compliments was thrilled to bring our audience exclusive access to its most compelling moments. As part of the press team, we were on the ground capturing exclusive interviews, behind-the-scenes moments, and the vibrant energy of the festival. We connected with visionary filmmakers, emerging artists, and passionate audiences, sharing their stories with our community through our platforms.

Covering Tribeca Festival 2025 allowed us to witness firsthand how creativity and diversity are celebrated, inspiring us to continue amplifying voices that matter. We’re proud to bring our audience an insider’s perspective on this cultural event that champions innovation, community, and the art of storytelling.
